Michigan is leading the nation in plans and programs to end homelessness. This is a problem with a solution and an end. But there is more to do. Homelessness is a national problem. It is a Michigan problem. As the economy has faltered, jobs have been lost and many families and individuals have become increasingly vulnerable in every community, large and small, across our state. Our social service systems have worked mightily to meet the challenge and will continue to work diligently.
