Funding Opportunities

Request for Proposals for 2010 MDCH Supportive Housing Program

Deadline for submissions is October 4, 2010.  (Approximately 16 available). 

  • 1 Bedroom units available for people who have a mental illness and are chronically homeless (continuously on the street for 1 year or homeless 4 times within 3 years and unaccompanied by children). Approximately 7 available.
  • 3 Bedroom units available for families (who are accompanied by children, who are homeless and who have one adult who has a serious mental illness).

 Project sponsors must be, or must partner with the Community Mental Health Agency in your area. Project sponsors must determine the need (units that they would be able to lease up and have occupied within three months of receipt of MDCH contract).

Eligible Geographic Area (meaning person would have to live in these counties to be assisted).

Eligible counties in Michigan are Allegan, Arenac, Baraga, Barry, Bay, Berrien, Branch, Cass,Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Clare, Clinton, Crawford, Delta, Dickinson, Emmet, Gladwin, Gogebic, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Houghton, Huron, Ionia, Iron, Isabella, Keweenaw, Lake, Lapeer, Luce, Mackinac, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Menominee, Midland, Missaukee, Montcalm, Newaygo, Oceana, Ogemaw, Ontonagon, Osceola, Oscoda, Otsego, Roscommon, St. Clair, St. Joseph, Sanilac, Schoolcraft, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Van Buren, and Wexford.

Eligible counties are those that did not apply to HUD directly in 2009. Proposals may address part or all of the eligible geographic areas.
